Error creating blank canvas

Error creating blank canvas inside GenerateStaticMaps();
Catastrophic failure (Exception from HRESULT: 0X8000FFFF (E_UNEXPECTED))

We think this error associated with older PNG files created a few years ago - newer PNGs seem to work fine. Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

We are using ImageMagick-6.6.5-8-Q16-windows-dll.exe on a Win XP virtual machine running in Lion OS X 10.7.4 and Fusion 4.1.1, using a program written in Visual Basic, the PNGs are created with Illustrator 15.0

Can you provide an example of a PNG that is associated with the crash?
Post it somewhere and provide the link we can retrieve it.
